Before you begin
- An Umbrel device with enough storage for Bitcoin Core.
- Bitcoin Node running on mainnet. Mining waits safely while the node is syncing.
- Your miners and Umbrel on the same trusted home network.
Install M45 goPool
Install Bitcoin Node
Install Umbrel's Bitcoin Node app and leave it on mainnet. You can install goPool while the initial block download runs, but miners will not receive work until the node is ready.
Install M45 goPool
Return to the App Store, open the M45Core community store, and install M45 goPool. Open it from your Umbrel home screen when installation completes.
Connect a miner
Use the same numeric LAN IP address you use to reach your Umbrel. Numeric IPs are usually more reliable than umbrel.local on ASIC firmware.

Keep it local: this package intentionally uses plain Stratum on a trusted LAN. Do not port-forward port 23456 or expose it directly to the internet.

The package starts with a 2% pool fee paid directly in the block coinbase to:
The remaining 98% is paid to the valid mainnet Bitcoin address in the winning miner's username. Solo mining is probabilistic: ordinary shares show that a miner is working, but only finding a valid Bitcoin block creates a payout.
Quick troubleshooting
The miner cannot connect
Confirm the miner and Umbrel are on the same LAN, use the Umbrel's numeric IP, include port 23456, and check that a router or host firewall is not blocking local traffic.
The pool says the node is syncing or unavailable
Open Bitcoin Node in Umbrel and let it finish syncing. goPool deliberately withholds work when Bitcoin Core is not ready so your miners do not waste hashes on unusable jobs.
The username is rejected
Use a valid Bitcoin mainnet address. Add an optional worker suffix after a period, and give each miner on the same wallet a different worker name.
